Introduction

WhimsyTurnsFatal (WTF) is a game of "Yes, and" applied to a tabletop game setting.

Like any good TTRPG, WTF is driven by imagination and creativity. The system lends itself toward the ridiculous and extreme, built with the intention of every adventure being reminiscent of a fever dream set in a Wonderland-esque world of possibility.

Cards!

The primary mechanic leveraged to introduce stakes and the potential for failure beyond direct player/GM control is through cards!

Two decks are used throughout the game, a deck of nouns and a deck of verbs.

Each deck is added to as any adventure goes on by the players themselves prior to beginning each encounter.

I spent entirely too much time on this, so I hope someone enjoys it! It's been a fun adventure, creating a TTRPG like this.

Known Issues

PDF internal links don't work

 I'm exporting from obsidian, and the plugin to export multiple pages as a single PDF has a bug. It's raised with the plugin owner, but there's no real guarantee it'll ever get fixed. I might go see if I can raise a PR to fix myself at some point... Not sure. But I didn't wanna delay publishing this on the off-chance.

Some clumsy page-breaks

I'm gonna use a similar excuse for this one! It's pretty difficult to properly page-set everything when not using an actual document editor... And I just prefer obsidian over documents, so I decided to take advantage of the better functionality in that tool and can only acknowledge is does cause the end-product PDF to suffer somewhat in quality. That said, I believe it's still entirely usable.

Lack of art

I'm not a very good artist and I don't currently have a lot of excess money to hire anyone out - and I'd sooner gouge out my own eyes and use AI generated crap. That said! If you're an artist and interested in doing some art for the game, please do reach out. I'd be interested to discuss your thoughts on pricing.
